AT TIDY TED'S, WE ARE PROUD TO PROVIDE A SAFE AND SECURE ENVIRONMENT FOR YOUR PET.  BY MAKING A BOOKING WITH TIDY TED'S YOU AGREE TO THE STANDARD TERMS & CONDITIONS AS SET OUT BELOW:  

CANCELLATIONS/MISSED APPOINTMENTS

Clients must give 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. 

Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice will be charged at the full appointment fee.

If a client arrives more than 15 minutes late without prior contact, this will be treated as a missed appointment, and full payment will be required before any further bookings.

If a dog is not collected within 15 minutes of the agreed collection time, additional care charges may apply. Collection times may be adjusted during the groom if the dog’s coat condition or behaviour requires extra time.

DOG HEALTH AND WELFARE

By attending the appointment, the client confirms their dog is fit, healthy, and fully vaccinated at the time of grooming.Tidy Ted’s may refuse or rearrange appointments for dogs that are in season, pregnant, unwell, or unsafe to groom.

Tidy Ted’s is not liable for irritation, abrasion, patchiness, or hair loss caused by:

• Pre‑existing skin conditions
• Coat condition
• Dematting, thinning, stripping, shaving, or any grooming process
• Non‑disclosure of medical, behavioural, or coat‑related issues

If a dog becomes stressed, distressed, or unsafe to handle, the groom may be stopped. The client will pay for work completed up to that point.

If a dog attempts to bite, a muzzle may be used, or the groom may be stopped at the groomer’s discretion.Any injury caused by the dog to itself, staff, or equipment is the client’s responsibility.

If we find a small number of parasites, we’ll let the client know and continue where appropriate. If the infestation is more severe, we may need to stop the groom, and the full appointment fee will be charged to cover the cost of thoroughly disinfecting equipment and any areas the dog has been.

If the dog’s health causes concern during the appointment, Tidy Ted’s may contact the client and, if necessary, obtain veterinary treatment at the client’s expense.

Senior Dogs, Brachycephalic Breeds & Puppies

For the safety and wellbeing of all dogs in our care, the client acknowledges that senior dogs, brachycephalic (flat‑faced) breeds, and puppies may require additional time, handling, and adjustments to the grooming process.

• Senior dogs may have age‑related conditions such as arthritis, heart issues, breathing difficulties, or reduced mobility. Grooming may need to be adapted, shortened, or stopped if the dog becomes stressed or uncomfortable.

• Brachycephalic breeds (including but not limited to Pugs, French Bulldogs, Bulldogs, Shih Tzus, and Pekingese) are at increased risk of breathing difficulties and overheating. Extra care will be taken, and rest breaks may be required.

• Puppies are still developing physically and emotionally. Grooming sessions may be shorter, and styles may be limited until the dog is mature enough to tolerate a full groom safely.

Tidy Ted’s reserves the right to modify, pause, or stop the groom if the dog shows signs of stress, discomfort, or health concerns. The client agrees to pay for all work completed up to that point. 

Tidy Ted’s is not liable for any stress‑related reactions or issues arising from age, breed characteristics, or the dog’s developmental stage.

MATTING RELEASE

Under the Animal Welfare Act 2006, severely matted coats must be removed humanely. Shaving may expose pre‑existing conditions such as:

• Skin irritation
• Bald spots
• Sores
• Parasites
• Ear bruising or haematomas from shaking

By signing, the client acknowledges that additional charges may apply for matting. Tidy Ted’s is not responsible for issues uncovered during shaving.

Veterinary treatment, if required, is at the client’s expense.

BEHAVIOUR AND SAFETY

​Dogs must be presented in a safe, manageable condition.

Aggressive or unsafe behaviour may result in the groom being stopped.  Handling fees may apply for difficult dogs. The client accepts responsibility for any injury caused by their dog.

COAT CONDITION AND GROOMING RESULTS

Grooming results depend on coat condition, maintenance, and the dog’s behaviour. Tidy Ted’s cannot guarantee specific styles on matted, neglected, or difficult coats. Shaving double‑coated breeds may permanently alter coat texture or regrowth.

PAYMENT TERMS

Payment is due on collection of the dog. No future appointments will be booked until outstanding balances are paid.

EMERGENCY CONTACT AND VETERINARY CONSENT

If the client cannot be reached in an emergency, Tidy Ted’s may act in the dog’s best interest.  Any veterinary costs incurred are the client’s responsibility.

DATA PRROTECTION (GDPR)

Personal information is used solely for grooming, appointment management, and safety.Information is stored securely and never shared without consent.

PHOTOGRAPHY AND SOCIAL MEDIA

Tidy Ted’s may take photographs of dogs during or after their groom for record‑keeping, progress tracking, or promotional use on social media and marketing materials.  Clients who do not wish their dog to be photographed or featured online can opt out at any time by:

• Informing Tidy Ted’s at the time of booking
• Sending a message prior to the appointment
• Telling the groomer at drop‑off

If a client opts out, no images of their dog will be used for social media or promotional purposes. 

Photos taken for safety, behaviour monitoring, or veterinary documentation may still be used internally but will never be shared publicly.
